Public Health Preparedness

Enhancing public health safety and security requires insights into the public health, medical, and emergency management domains.  Possessing technical and operational expertise in each of these areas, Obsidian is a national leader in analysis of public health security challenges facing planners at the local, state, and federal levels of government and the development of operational plans.

Obsidian analysts work across the Federal interagency, state agencies, community groups, research institutions, and non-governmental organizations to provide exercise development, facilitation, and evaluation; policy and plan development; training design and delivery; capabilities assessments; and after-action reporting.  Currently Obsidian supports the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency, and state Departments of Health improve preparedness for and response to biological warfare, pandemic influenza, as well as medical and mass care support to catastrophic incidents.
